Pumpkin factory

It's only 2 days until Halloween, and I've already managed to make three pumpkin carvings and there still one pumpkin left... :) I didn't use any stencils I was only looking at a printed picture while I was drawing the lines and I didn't even practice, but I think I made quite a good job :) How do you like them? Hope the pictures will give you some ideas for your own carvings. Good luck!

This owly carving is the best one I've made so far I think.

Chesh is here too :)

Halloween fever

Yes, my favourite holiday is just around the corner again, and as usual, I'm already terribly excited about it. I'm in the middle of organising my annual Halloween party and the guestlist gone really long, so I'm hoping to see loads of creative costumes.

Before last Halloween, I posted photos of all of my costumes I made and wore throughout the years, except for last year's, so here it is now with a little tutorial.
I dressed up as The Mad Hatter from Tim Burton's latest Alice in Wonderland interpretation.

This was my mad look :)

The makeup and costume part was quite easy, the main challenge was obviously the top hat. This video helped me a lot, if you want to make your own signature mad hat follow the instructions in the tutorial.

It took me a few days to perfect my hat. I used an old green tablecloth and applied some lace also from a former tablecloth on it. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: maybe it's not obvious from the video but you have to apply the fabric DIAGONALLY! unless it will be crumpled. The same happened to me but luckily the lace veiled my little mistake. I used a lot of green and golden paint as well, I bought some hatpins and I had a nice red and black feather which used to be a decoration in a bouquet of flowers.

And here are the rest of the guests with funnier and funnier costumes:

Spoon killer, Cereal killer, a Pirate, Princesse Leia and Han Solo, the Facebook page, Harvey Dent, Stewardess aka Lady Gaga, The Mad Hatter and Catwoman

Last year my pumpkin carving abilities somehow improved and I came up with a puking pumpkin and an Oogie Boogie pumpkin to scare the bad ghosts away.

I already have this year's costume idea in my mind, but never kiss and tell, it's a surprise! :)
If you have any great costume ideas let me know! Comments are free and don't hurt ;)

Cheers and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
